Title: How to move hosting from 50Webs to GitHub Pages
Post by: AmateurWebMaster on January 24, 2018, 06:46:32 PM
Currently have a domain MyDomain.info registered with GoDaddy, and the websites MyDomain.info and SubDomainOne.MyDomain.info free-hosted with 50Webs. I also have a GitHub Pages website MeAtGitHub.Github.io/mywebsite. I want the GitHub Pages website to have the custom address SubDomainOne.MyDomain.info, and I know what to do on the GitHub side of the process. When I go to GoDaddy to make the necessary changes, I get: "We can't display your DNS information because your nameservers aren't managed by us" and other error messages. It seems that I need to have something done on the 50Webs side first. Would you please help me? Thank you in advance.

I can answer my own question. I was able to do the required changes with GoDaddy after first changing the nameservers from Custom to Default. The necessity of this step was written nowhere in GoDaddy’s online documentation. I got it by speaking with their Technical Support.
