Any update on a solution to my issue?
4  50Webs Services / Support questions (Free plan). / [SOLVED] I've come back to 50Webs on: January 16, 2011, 10:56:38 AM
I've come back to 50Webs Free plan!

I'm trying to add my domain (cannellbd.com) so I can move my things here from my previous hosting, but I am getting this error:
Quote
The domain you are trying to add already exists in our system. Please select another domain and try again.

I registered with an entirely new account, as I don't recall any details for the account I had previously (or if it even still exists).

So I am thinking perhaps this is an issue with my old account (which can be erased).

Thanks and glad to be back,
Brandon
5  General Forum / Computer Talks / Have a FTP as a Drive in Windows on: March 09, 2009, 03:43:04 AM
Yes, of course this can be done in Linux.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In Ubuntu, click "Places" on the main GNOME menu and then click "Connect to Server..."

A dialog will show. Change "Service type" to "FTP (with login) as shown in the image below, and remember to fill out the "Server," "User Name," and "Bookmark name" fields. Also, you will need to tick the box next to "Add bookmark." The contents of this field will be the name of the "drive" that links to the FTP.

Click "Connect."

The dialog below will show. Enter the password for the user name you gave in the previous dialog. Then, select the radio button next to "Remember forever" (optional).

Click "Connect."

If the server you gave is valid, and the user name and password are correct, a file browser window should show with the contents of the server you connected to.

A bookmark should show in the side pane with the name you gave in the first dialog. Clicking this bookmark will make a connection via FTP, or browse to a current connection.

10  General Forum / Web Design and Multimedia / is Nvu a good program to build a website on here??? on: February 01, 2009, 07:51:09 PM
PHP is a server-side scripting language. It's used to create dynamic websites, bulletin boards (like this one), and content management systems.

You do not need to use PHP, it's optional. If you want to learn to write in PHP, go ahead. But it's not required for a small-time site.

The best things about Firefox is that I can get rid of all ads and also make the text for a particular site larger and Firefox always remembers the text size setting I have set for a site.

Erm.. Opera has a built-in content blocking feature..

You can block images from a certain domain... and I assume there is probably a list out there of all the content where ads come from.. and you can just add that to your blacklist.

Are you trying to link to a different website? If so... You must have "http://" at the beginning of each URL.
