yeh all the systems are the same apart from the new 50gb...   i used to hit 25gb sometimes...   50gb is pretty much unreachable Smiley

i also noticed that i had to use 16 parts to get over 700KB/s AND that thereare some new download servers

its all good Cheesy

I use 16 parts, typical speeds for me are 700-750 KB/s, occasionally goes up to the 800's for a few seconds but not long... My connection doesn't go higher than that anyway so its the full speed of my crappy connection from ISP lol.

yeh i think they might have had a bit of a spike when they introduced the 50gb or soemthing.. or makby it was while they were worknging on new servers.

all it back as before now i get 900KB/s (my max, new ISP is ACE ! lol)  with 1 connection...

gideon... there is no need to use 16 parts from RS when you have 8MB internet. it just makes rejoining take longer

16 parts isnt nessecary for fast servers but its too much hassle to change it. And its not too bad anyway. 6-8 seconds per 100MB on laptop less on PC.

Does that include rebuilding or just downloading the files ? Or is the idea that PC is faster because it doesn't use wireless.

6-8 seconds is rebuilding a 100MB file on laptop. less on PC.

Download is 40 seconds based on 2.5MB/s

on my laptop it takes about same as u 8 seconds for rejoin.. unless i make mistake of starting all files at once then it takes about an hour lol

and i dont do that, it would be completly unfair of me to use that much bandwith when it is meant to be shared between 220 computers wouldnt it

no i dont... that would be horribly selfish of me now wudnt it...

alltho i hav noticed... that is SOMEONE download a file, with the new proxy server setup at school it makes the whole internet go slow for everyone and that SOMEONE gets full speed of 100mbps... guess the old server had some basic traffic management things...   jutst in case u were intresteed lol
