Good free FTP Client software downloads list....

I don't if there is any good free ftp software do this job, because most of them assume that you have all files on your harddrive after you have done youe web design, and then upload to server, so the question would be where are those files on your harddrive after you uploaded...

so i dopn't know any good free software doing this, I only know the dedicate server backup ftp server... :roll:

best recommended is dont delete / remove the origin files from your hard drive after uploaded to the server. Just in case the backup on the server is failed.

Yes, you can upload the files via the File manger included in the control panel or via the FTP service

I know this is an old thread...but the FTP program that you mention was the first 'software' kind that I ever learned to use.  I really liked it, it was easy for someone who had no clue what FTP was, before that!  But even when I used this two or three years ago, I only had the 'evaluation' freeversion and yes, in 30 days time I had the 'nag' message.

So there really is FTP software out there that you can have for free and it REMAINS free?  Or do they all eventually ask you to pay for them?  I'm currently using Internet Explorer FTP which has no bells & whistles but is OK, and it's always free.

yea, that's right, many of them turn in to commercial and that list I need to recheck them and add more...but for me all software that remain free and most used are Open Source software...the best one is FileZilla...Opensource will never been a commercial and remain free forever..thanks for comments

I agree, I love the simultaneous file uploading feature. It's really fast... but one thing I was disappointed at is I can't move or copy folders.

Aside from that, downloading and uploading, I'd recommend Filezilla to everyone!

Don't know if this constitutes software, but I have found Net2FTP very useful. (Ex: When at school, or on other computers when I don't have my USB Flash Drive.)

Yeah I use that at school a lot. Damn school PCs stuck in the past and restricted more than the area coverable by an ant.
