I have recently upgraded to a paid plan because I wanted the e-mail. It upgraded fine, no problems. But I have been trying to use Windows Live Mail to check my e-mail.  I can recieve e-mails with windows live but I can't seem to send them. I always get an error message.

The connection to the server has failed.
Subject 'tiff'
Server: 'mail.50webs.com'
Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800CCC0E
Protocol: SMTP
Port: 25
Secure(SSL): No
Socket Error: 10061

I am figuring that it is some kind of configuration error. So I was wondering if someone could give me the configuration settings for the email.
I'd greatly appriciate it!

did you configure Windows Live mail to use" Outgoing server requires authentication"?

1) Open the Internet Accounts page, on the Tools menu, click Accounts.

2) On the Properties page for your account, click the Advanced tab, and do the following:
     - Under Server Port Numbers, under Outgoing mail (SMTP), select the check box next to This server requires a secure connection (SSL).
     - Under Incoming mail (IMAP) or Incoming mail (POP3), select the check box next to This server requires a secure connection (SSL).
     - Click Apply, and then click OK.

I have tested on both Windows Live Mail/Outlook Express and MS Office Outlook 2010...minutes ago all work fine...

Sorry it has taken forever to get back on here. Got pretty busy.

I just tried using SSL and It doesn't help with not being able to send mail, and it actually screws things up with the incoming mail. It doens't work if I use SSL.

The outgoing mail when I use SSL comes up with an error that says (I don't remember what I had put before I have tried so many different things to get it to work, that I can't keep track of em all.)

The connection to the server has failed.

If anyone could figure out whats going on I would really appriciate it. =]

the other way to check if the SMTP is working properly under your account, logon to user CP and go to webmail and try to send email using webmail, if you can't send email, then there is problem on SMTP in your account, please open support ticket, the issue should be fixed within hour after ticket has been opened...in that case, the issue is in specific user account...
