Note: This problem is now solved. 'Old' cpanel had problems with Help desk and info about accurate login for WinSCP. Smiley

Hello

Firstly i'd like to say my Help >Open Ticket and other ticket pages do not work in my payed account. Plus, nowhere does it say Free accounts DON'T get the 24 Help as promised in your site. I was surprised i couldn't get quick help, only because i wasn't warned it wouldn't be quick. If you said "Free account is not included in 24 hour help promise" then i expect that is OK. Anyway, i'm not surprised, after all it was a free account.

So please can you fix my Help >Ticket * pages and make them active now i am now a paying customer, and from time to time i need help...

Right now, i need help on this:

I have payed for SSH Activation in my plan.

However, when i go to connect, the WinSCP program returns a 'password error'. I have checked the log file on my local machine, and it all looks good except in actual fact the password is not going through. Originally i hadn't selected Telnet as the proxy, and it seemed to access your server OK, with keys passed and authorised. Then i changed it to telnet, and then now i need a proxy definition...

So, since in my account i have tested several passwords, and i know i have entered them correctly both into the WinSCP and 'Set' password at the SSH Activation tool in cpanel, then i wonder if the problem is telnet or is my account actually not setting the password when i change it at the cpanel SSH Activation section.

I have loged out, and loged in to see if it fixes the problem, but no luck. I can't seem to think i need to set a proxy with telnet, as the log definetly appeared to have hooked up to the server with the default WinSCP setup.

The error log for telnet was a flat denied. Where the error log for defaul WinSCP setup ended in this:

Code:
. 2012-01-23 03:53:55.546 Sent password
. 2012-01-23 03:53:55.546 Waiting for the server to continue with the initialisation
. 2012-01-23 03:53:55.546 Looking for incoming data
. 2012-01-23 03:53:55.546 Looking for network events
. 2012-01-23 03:53:55.750 Detected network event
. 2012-01-23 03:53:55.750 Enumerating network events for socket ###
. 2012-01-23 03:53:55.750 Enumerated # network events making # cumulative events for socket ###
. 2012-01-23 03:53:55.750 Handling network read event on socket ### with error #
. 2012-01-23 03:53:55.750 Password authentication failed
! 2012-01-23 03:53:55.750 Access denied

Please can you check my cpanel and make sure the password set tool in SSH Activation is working? Or how else can you help?

Thank you
SC

your issue should not be difficult to fix the issue by tech supports, what's your user ID, please? so I can report it to tech support...in my account all support tickets are responded within 15 minutes every time...also please use version 3 in Control Panel because some of features is not available in old v.2...but provide me your user ID or client ID I will have tech support get your problem fix for you, or you can simply open the ticket in your account.
